Instytutu Fizyki Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego wraz z Zielonogórskim Oddziałem PTF zapraszają na wykład, który odbędzie się 14 maja 2025 roku o godz. 11:00. w sali 106, bud. A-29 (I piętro) w Instytucie Fizyki Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego, ul. Prof. Z. Szafrana 4a. Wykład pt. "Non-local Metamaterials and Waves" wygłosi prof. Muamer Kadic z Université Marie et Louis Pasteur, SUPMICROTECH, CNRS, institut FEMTO-ST, F-25000, Besançon, France.

Streszczenie:
Non-local metamaterials [1-4] exhibit significant departures from traditional local materials, enabling enhanced control over wave propagation and manipulation. By incorporating concepts from quantum fluid dynamics, we examine the emergence of roton-like excitations, which reveal novel behaviors in these structured media. The analysis employs advanced theoretical frameworks and computational models to demonstrate the impact of non-locality on mechanical and acoustic wave phenomena. Experimental validation is achieved through bespoke metamaterial designs, showcasing robust performance across various frequency ranges.
