27 lutego 2026 r. zmarł profesor Andrzej Trautman. Miał 93 lata. Prof. Trautman był jednym z najwybitniejszych polskich fizyków teoretyków, współtwórcą wielkiego przełomu w teorii grawitacji, który zaowocował zrozumieniem, czym są fale grawitacyjne i jak można ich istnienie obserwacyjnie zweryfikować.

Abstract
On 27 February 2026, Professor Andrzej Trautman passed away. He was 93 years old. Professor Trautman was one of Poland’s most eminent theoretical physicists and a co-creator of the major breakthrough in the theory of gravitation that led to an understanding of what gravitational waves are and how their existence can be verified observationally.
